The KITTYHAWK is certainly one of the best examples of this popular IRWIN 52 Center Cockpit to be available for quite some time. She's the "52-4" version of this model that that made her market debut in the '88-'89 timeframe. The IRWIN 52 was first introduced in the later 1970's and was built through the early 1990's. With a reported "over 250" IRWIN 52's produced, it's been noted that this Ted Irwin design is probably the most prolific "larger sailboat" (over 50') ever manufactured!
Configured as a cutter and having the preferred Tall Rig along with roller-furling for both the mainsail and the genoa, the KITTYHAWK is a very easy yacht to operate by a cruising couple or light crew. The easy-to-manage center cockpit design and the superb (3) stateroom layout, combined with the outstanding interior as enhanced by the large Salon portlights, made the IRWIN 52 a top seller ever since her market debut.
